I don't own a G85CS. Wish I did, but don't. I have a P11, and from images I have seen, the G85CS uses the same 7" SLS front brake.

Where are G85CS owners getting there front brake shoes? They are apparently made of unobtanium. I can get mine relined, but am wondering if anyone has a source for new shoes with linings.

Hi Schany, just seen this. The AJS&MATCHLESS OWNERS CLUB sell these on an exchange basis. You may need to be a member. Hth. Regards Neil

Thanks

I can get exchange shoes in a few places. I was trying to find new brake shoes I could order without the exchange. Not happening in this century, or my life time.

Maybe next winter I'll pull the front shoes and send them off to AMC Classics, or somebody in the USA. Either that or burn some money on 35mm Maxton Ceriani copy forks and a disc setup. It's not a restoration project.

I believe Russell Motors (UK) still stocks complete brake shoes for sale. Listed under 029248 (c/with linings), the correct part number is 029247. I recommend an enquiry by fax before placing the order.

Inspired by Doc Casey at the eGroup site, I intend to swap the Teledraulic forks on my P11 for a set of 80's Marzocci forks, providing twin discs. Using small discs, the deviation isn't too obtrusive.
