I wonder if anybody would be able to assist me please?
I'm on holiday (on the T160 actually) and the Podtronics rectifier has started to play up, so ideally I want to purchase a new one before I run out of electricity. I'm presently on the Stelvio pass in Italy and am travelling to Garmish-Partenkirchen in Germany so probably under the circumstances will avoid the passes and go via Landeck.
I have no idea where to get one in Austria, so if anybody knows where there is one it would be much appreciated.

Last night it was charging again after waggling gently the wires near the unit, but it may stop charging again at any time. I think there's a broken wire very near where the wires emerge from the unit. I have some spare wire etc with me but not easy at the side of the road and if the break is next to the unit, hard to attach, so to whack on a replacement seems to me to be my best option.

It's fora single phase 180w system.

Hope it's ok to post on here for this, if not please remove.

if someone can help you in Austria, then it's Mark:

Mark Upham, the most experienced guy for British motorcycles in Austria:
he has lots of spare parts, and also a Workshop where he might be able to repair your rectifier.
As he is pure british, you might also like his sense of Humor :-)

the ladies who pick up the phone also do speak english
Pettenbach is located in upper Austria, what is a day trip from Landeck to North-east. from there you can continue in another day trip westbound to Garmisch.
from Passo di Stelvio it will take you two day trips to Pettenbach, eastbound via Dolomites, eastern tyrol, Großglockner, Salzburg, Pettenbach

First of all, thanks to all who have replied.
I posted this morning whilst still at the hotel, so it would be easier than on the road if the rectifier had failed completely, as I wasn't sure how far I 'd get, based on it not working for at least 50 miles yesterday before I looked at the problem last night, but it appears that it has been charging some if not all of the time today since I waggled the wires and had the connector apart although I'm fairly sure the connector has nothing to do with the problem.

So to all who have offered help, I would like to thank again. It's so easy to repair the problem by replacement, but knowing where to get a rectifier in a foreign (to me) country was the issue, so the fact that the problem can now be resolved tomorrow (thanks LAB) is fantastic for me. The rectifier has done some charging today, so I should easily be able to get to Norton Motors tomorrow. As it turns out we've got to Garmish-Partenkirchen now,and tomorrow I was already going to Weichselbaum for a Triumph/Bsa rally, which after consulting Google Maps just so happens to be the next village to where Norton Motors have their shop. I new their shop was within 10 or 20 miles, from the Rally venue, but never realised that it was that close, so thanks LAB for the specific information. Later on this morning I managed to make contact with the Rally organiser who seems to think that he has a spare I could borrow, so I'll either borrow his or go to Norton Motors and get a new one anyway.
I don't want to sound over the top, but I am most grateful. Thanks.

Reggie :D :D

Glad you got it sorted Reggie.

Cheers,

cliffa.
