What's happening at Norton? Sale to TVS, massive investment, new bikes...

Okay! Please tell me what other forums you own so that I don't trespass there too. ;)
I will say this.
A couple years ago I joined a 961 Facebook group and the first day or so of being a member, I was called a liar and a fake by many UK members.

The reason, because I said I owed two 961’s.
Even when I posted pics of both of them, I was still called a liar and a poser.
It lead to me being banned because I tried everything to defend myself and to prove I wasn’t a liar.

Some of the members on that group were attacking and said I was full of it.
It became heated to the point of the admins banning me. One of the admins is a member of this forum group.

As far as this forum goes, my past account ( Voodoo- myself ), and SS do NOT get a long. At ALL.
Under my voodoo account I tried to ask SS to block me if he didn’t like my post / comments. He refused. He said something along the lines that it wasn’t need. Don’t quote me on the exact verbiage as I don’t remember.

I for a short period did block SS.
I asked, then begged the admins to delete my account, he refused and said he could allow me to change my account user name. I refused. So I took a break from this group.

Time went on, things didn’t improve, which I’ll take responsibility for my actions, but the tensions were still the same between myself and SS.

I finally decided enough was a enough and I begged the admins of this forum to please delete my account. He did.

I don’t recall the amount of time it’s been since my last account, but I’d guess it’s been a few months?

Nothings changed.
People don’t like it when one speaks up when their views don’t align with their own.

They don’t like to hear one’s opinions or experiences, especially when they say it’s negative.

I find it interesting that when owners of the Donington era bikes, when they were riddled with problems, owners would complain constantly on here about the issues and that caused many would be owners not to purchase a new 961 at those times.

Where were these optimistic people then?
You know what helped fix those problems?
People who complained and voiced their concerns, frustrations, and dislikes about their bikes, because they just made an expensive purchase and felt like they made a mistake doing so.

If it weren’t for the people who own these bikes, and the group of people on this very forum, things most likely wouldn’t have changed and the problems would have probably never of been addressed.
If you own a 961, you owe a lot of thanks to the Coote’s, Stu and City Garage.
NOT Garner, and definitely NOT TVS Norton.

God forbid you say anything negative about TVS Norton on this forum, if you do, be prepared to hear about it.

As far as you being in this 961 group, I personally don’t care what you say or do.
I’m not on the classic Norton section because I don’t own a classic Norton.

When TVS Norton does finally start to make their own new bikes, I may or may not like the looks, but I can’t voice my opinions on the quality or dependability as I’ll not be a owner and never will be. But don’t expect me not to when it comes to their handling of the 961.

Wow something must be in that Poligrip you use. I used please and everything just to ask that you don’t add to an issue on a board you don’t frequent. Better yet you could’ve asked that in a private message if you wanted to be a nosy schoolgirl. So now that you want to be a troll why don’t you add an A to your SS signature because that’s what’s showing right now.

Sorry you even had to post this.

I think some of the banter back and forth is rather amusing from both you and Stephen and the forum is a better place for having both of you in it regardless of your differences. I think it’s enlightening to have two strong opinions and I think you both would begrudgingly admit, each has made numerous positive points that all of us here have read.

When Norton finally gets around to producing whatever it is, they’re going to put out to the public at the show. They’ll be another 50 pages of you guys going back-and-forth about how much you both like or hate whatever it is and it will be just as amusing as the last 60 pages.

wow, get a life

If you're offended by something I directed to someone personally and not to you, maybe you should heed your own comment eh. Or do all Poligrip jokes offend you because you ate too much poutine and rotted your teeth eh? I thought Canadian healthcare was the gold standard eh!
You know - apoplexy does not suit you well. 🩷

Not going to add perspective/opinion to your post Voodooo; I’ve been actively avoiding where that would lead.

I’m going to continue to post my opinions in a respectful, balanced way. Criticise/praise Norton as I see it, whilst remaining open and (cautiously) optimistic about new models and a future yet to unfold.

Outright/uber repetitive negativity - although challenged by many on this site - is not the principle issue here IMO.

No social media group reacts well to members that display a conversational approach that (often) ranges from passive aggressive to confrontational - at times abusive. That approach is simply incompatible with any discussion forum.

My thoughts only.

I rest my case, you take everything offensive. Cheers.
You’ll never admit that you too are also partial to blame. As am I as I said over and over.

It’s hilarious that you always say you’re not going to respond, and here once again you just did.

SS
From this day forward…..
I’ll never respond to you or your comments again and I’m sincerely sorry for all the past between us.
Good luck to you.

Or, you can take it like that…….?

Good luck.

So are you bored over at the commando forum and decided to troll here or ??? It sounds like you want to pick a fight.
actually. i've participated freely on this site, anywhere that interested me, for more than a decade, then dude shows up, who likes to repeat above???

Mmmmmm! We need to see it in all of its glory obviously - any of these body panels could be just to obscure.

Tail unit look unusual, especially where the seat meets the unit - may not be the finished article. Looks trick from the rear though. Is the exhaust going to be integrated with the belly pan - who knows?

AI mockups are of little use. Look forward to seeing the real thing on the stand at EICMA.

Thoughts?

Looking at the fairing, the top part with the lights looks 'OEM', whereas the rest looks cobbled together, look at how rough the finish is. I suspect this area will look different in the production bikes. Ditto for the seat and tail piece. Headlights and tail light are expensive to manufacture, so these parts are production ready. The exhaust being integrated with the bellypan reminds me of some recent Ducatis.

Talk about being negative, people are already judging a non production bike that’s in the rough. Ever hear of test mule or camo?
You think they’re going to expose the final product before they’re ready?

I don’t like the rear end . Too stubby and I’ve never liked that type of tail/license plate holder. I am sure it will look better when finished.

Tony,
You hit the nail on the head!
It looks standard like, all the other superbikes. But it's a Norton, not every other brand. Make it distinctive!
Break from the others.
The seat should be longer, and the plate should be behind/under the seat.
That plate holder arm, hang-back-thingie is a visual afterthought. An unsightly appendage. Be gone with it!;)
