what lock?

Many say that if someone whats it, they're going to get it. I have used a small cable but I have been thinking about something to go on the drive chain. I have a riveted master link and it would be rather difficult with out proper tools. But then again, if they want it, they're going to get it.
18 volt angle grinder or a sharp whack to the disk with a ball peen hammer and it's in pieces and the disk lock lays on the ground left behind.
Anyway, if they want it, they will get it!

let's see
1. unfold kickstart lever while leaving rider footpegs and passenger footpegs in down position for kick lever clearance
2. fold up rider and passenger footpegs for kicking lever clearance
3. tickle amal carbs just right or risk flooding
4. kick lever several times with ignition switch in the off position
5. turn key to place ignition switch into the correct one of four positions (none of the others will start the bike)
6. kick lever after first finding TDC or risk breaking your knee (then your head as it throws you over the bars and onto the street)
7. hold throttle just so in order to warm bike up to take off (if it starts!!)
8. repeat steps 1 and 2 in reverse
9. wooo hoooo, ready for takeoff
10. add a couple more steps if you decide to use the steering lock - I think they would fit somewhere between steps 4 and 5
seriously? lock it? I can barely start it myself; usually messing up one of the steps or getting them in the wrong order.
My Norton is definitely NOT a getaway vehicle unless you pay a small boy to stand beside it and rev the engine while you
commit whatever crime you have in mind.
They say if your Norton is missing just look for it in the lowest part of the village or the bottom of the next hill.
I don't suppose a lock will keep a coupla hefty lads from lifting it into a truck though..............

Don't leave it anywhere it will get stolen or have it where you can keep a eye on it and never tell anyone that you don't know where you live, I have a chain and lock that can't be cut with bolt cutters and you would need a few cutting wheels on a grinder to cut it, but useless at home with the oxy set beside the bike and at work it is parked in my workshop out of site, with the Joe Hunt maggie I only have a toggle switch for on/off and as they say it only takes 2 big fellows to lift it in a truck, so if they want it badly they will get it, you just got to make it harder for them to steel it.

The dreaded mercury switch motion sensor set to go on as the bike came off the sidestand wa said to be o.k.
a lot of far more sophisticated devices about these days.
