Then fitted my old faithful battered, bent and cracked black box with a jap twin output coil, and big fat sparks crack out on every kick. I'll tape that lot on 'til I get a reply from Boyer.
.... But, what if plans had worked out and I had been touring Norway. What then? Do you know, points have their problems but you'll usually get home. I just want reliability.
Nicely done on ALL fronts, cash.
This ignition subject might run on a bit, as well it should. Lots of debate out there about the subject.
Bought a Boyer, quite a while ago, but haven't installed it yet. Then I became convinced I should "Ebay it off" in favor of a Pazon, which I've never heard anything bad about. Now I learn of a different make, Trispark, which, I take it, was originally designed for the speed triples? Otherwise why the "Tri" part of the the name? Cough, cough, eh gads. I'm confused. Also, no mention of the cost of the price of the system on their website.... or I just missed it(?).
I do have a personal stake in this. I have either purchased and/or already installed these items: a Boyer ignition, a Dyno 12 volt coil, a Tympanium rectifier. My bike still has the original Lucas single phase alternator. Don't want to hijack in any way the post, but wondering what folks think about this set-up? What I'm reading lately is the hi-tech folks are going Pazon, a 3-phase alternator (Sparx), and having NO regrets.
wrench, still designing his wiring harness....
