Hi
Does anyone have any info on the what Rings to use, or what not use and where to get them from for a 750?

Thanks
Tony

The ones that match your pistons are the one you need.
Differant companies have differant groove depths in their pistons. I thing Hepolite's grooves are deeper so their rings won't work with , perhaps, any other piston. I could not ID the pistons I had so was forced to get a piston, ring, r-pin set. I chose Hepolite.

MATCH THE RINGS TO THE PISTONS.

Thanks, I have JCC pistons, however I was told the rings they supply are not flash; and to get an alternative.

OK but be Cautious of Hepolite for they are wider, good but wider.
Please do the foot work and get the right ones. I am sure there are other that will work.
I do not know about JCC rings, but stand by, I am sure other will post with the info you need.

Fit the JCC rings, they are only a plain cast iron ring so should bed in quick,if you don't run it super rich they should last a reasonable time, you will probably find the hepolite ring are only cast to

Hi, I had low compression on my 73 750 and it would not start properly, 55psi & 95 psi which is far too low.
The bore could have been worn, so on the recomendation of the guys at RGM motors in UK I put a set of Cord (or is it Chord, I cant remember).
You put 2 thin rings in each grove & they are sprung steel & not cast as usual rings. They give you better compression if your bores are a bit worn, but I belive they wear the bores quicker than conventional rings.
Mine has now got good compression & start 1st or 2nd kick.
They are a real bugger to fit in the barrels even with ring clamps so I had to put the pistons in the bores on the bench then fit the barrels afterwards & fit the pistons to the con rods while my mate held the barrels in place, this worked on our 2nd attempt.
Maybe the bores will wear a bit quicker but I dont do that many miles each year.
Maybe not the best rings but it was a cheap fix for me (lets face it I do live in yorkshire), & it now works perfectly without burning oil & I cant stand on the kickstart for a while before it goes down.
Best of luck
Cheers Don

It's been a long while, but I recall that there were two piece rings with internal springs that many said were superior to the one piece rings.
