What’s with Norvil

New to Norton and am after some second hand parts. Found a cover on Norvil eBay site but …… if I don’t give 5 star reviews I get put on some “industry baned list” and if I want to collect I could wait up to 4 weeks before it becomes available. What’s that all about ? Many years ago I had a Triton and used to collect parts. They were a bit odd then. Richard

Just don't use norvil is the best advice
And be careful as they also trade under different names

You'll need a whole pot of coffee to read all the info about Norvil on this site.
"if I don’t give 5 star reviews I get put on some “industry baned list”..
That is very brazen statement by any vendor about any product...

Based on that statment alone, baz's suggestion has a lot of merit...
Admittedly, I have bought many parts from them with no issues.
However, those were new and MANY years ago when they were an AN vendor.

I bought a Norvil camshaft based on recommendation.

15,000 miles in, I'll let you know how it holds up.

I'm not saying everything they sell is bad
It may just be mine and just about everyone I know has had issues
I can guarantee one thing
It'll be your own fault for not fitting it correctly!!!

I think if they are saying you must give a 5 star review, that is against Ebay's rules for sellers. The "industry banned list" just sounds like BS though.

I know a lot of people are unhappy with Norvil for various reasons but in the interest of honesty I have bought many things from them and never been dissatisfied. Also bought from Andover and RGM and pleased with them as well. Am I just a lucky anomaly ?
Perhaps.

I have purchased twice from Norvil - both bad experiences.
Based on the level of rudeness toward me last time - NEVER AGAIN.

Norvil Les Emery are a bit of an enigma.

They do have parts which are not available elsewhere plus a good range of very expensive second hand parts which can be hard to find.

I have also found the staff who answer the phones to be polite and efficient.

However.

I purchased a few parts including a 4 S cam back about 20 years ago that were poor quality. And when talking to Mr Emery he was very rude and blamed me for poor installation etc. The cam had the badly machined quietening ramps which have also been measured by Dyno Dave. The lobes also had different lobe centres left to right.

So rather frustrating. He is not a pleasant man.
