Yes, what is the point?
An American narrator with US pricing, on a bike that isn’t even available outside the UK.

So many things wrong here.
Not to mention, I never heard anyone ever say a 3 way catalytic converter (so fancy)

If the motor comes from China, it raises a question in my mind about metallurgy. When the Sydney Harbour Bridge was built in Australia in the 1930s, all the steel was imported from the UK - NOT made in Australia. Much of China's industry has been created by American corporations, but the Chinese are not Japanese. Their mindset is different. -

Hi All
This topic of the motor coming from China keeps coming up. I as well as many other Uk based Norton owners have been to the new factory and have seen the new motors being assembled in a clean room there. all parts entering the clean room are put through a state of the art parts cleaner befor entering. The engine assembly area is next to the quality department were parts are checked by CMM measuring machines and hardness testing kit. TVS has spent millions on the facility it is really impresive.
All frames are manufactured in house in another area.

Exactly.
I work on (repairing) Taiwanese made CNC milling & turning centers. The only people impressed are NON-machinists, and cheapskate bean counters.
 
I would certainly prefer that Norton castings (cases, barrels, heads) all be made in the UK.
Apparently, this is not possible due either to cost, or inability to find suppliers.
My personal feeling is that Taiwanese castings are acceptable, Red Chinese are not, regardless of price.
If the sourced components for the NEW 961 are shit, we should see failures and malfunctions reported by owners.
Let's wait and see what the owners report.

Almost certainly cost. Will be interesting when the guys attending get to ‘feel the quality’ on the 961 at the NEC.
