" Bland" might be a way of describing a motorcycle which does not scare you shitless. The only fairly modern bike I have ridden was a VFR400 Honda. When I ride any motorcycle, I become unaware of its speed. The VFR400 did not feel like anything. And I could not understand why it did not go any faster than 180 KPH. I did not know it was speed limited. My impression of it was, it did everything so perfectly that human brains were not needed. With old motorcycles, an adrenalin rush usually creates a fear response which causes the rider to react.Ah yes, "bland". I seem to remember, back in the day, when the critics couldn't find anything wrong with a machine it confounded them, so they described it as "bland"!
