Was my Birthday yesterday big 63 years young, big day planned so up early the beer fridge was full and the beers were cold, a mate dropped around on his old Triumph bobber and told him to come back for beers when he left he is only a short walk to my place from his, we have known each other since school, he return not long after and the drinking started, the day before I got a phone call about my 2013 Thruxton I have for sale and the person was very interested as he just got his 2010 Thruxton ritten off 1 1/2 weeks earlier in a parking lot, the bike was parked and car reverse into the side of it and pushed it into a concrete wall so the insureance rode it off, so I told him it was my birthday Sunday and to come around to check it out as I be but with a few beers in me, well he came around at 11:30 am with his wife and dashound dog, my blue cattle dog thought it was a susage and tried to eat it LOL
so after some time checking and having a good old gas bag with me and my mate he pulled out $100 deposit for the bike without even riding it.
After he left another surprise a old friend I haven't seen for a few years turned up, she was up stairs with the wife and they played a good trick on she phoned me up as we were up the back in the shed and made out she was still up the coast, we were having a good chat when she walked out of the house, byt his time I had had quite a few beers in me, was great seeing her again.
So what a great day it was good friends, lots of cold beers and selling the bike , so couldn't ask for a better day.

Happy birthday, and that's an awfully nice-looking Thruxton (or thruxtonized Bonnie, I never can tell)

My goodness, it looks brand new!
Yes looks better than when I bought it new, but the new owner went over it and found things that weren't polished or looked bad in his eyes, but as I told him I ride I don't polish all that much, but its the upgrades that I have done to the suspension, Eumalators and Race Tec spring up front and the Gazi shocks on the back makes this bike handle so well, I took the steering damper off yesterday going to keep that the bike don't need it but does make a difference so will go on one of my other bikes, I will miss this Thruxton has been a great bike but the 1200 Thruxton is so much better, and no its a true Thruxton, not a Thruxtonized Bonny, he is even going to take off the rear rack, but some people are fussy, that rack has carried a lot of cartons of beer on the back over the years lol.
Yes a few tears today when he rides off on it I am sure, it has never let me down except for one flat tyre while traveling but blew 100 yards from where I was going to stay for 2 weeks.

I'm guessing there's not quite as much salt on the roads in Oz as here in blighty in the winter
All year riding in my state of Queensland, no snow, sub tropical area its still spring and we have already had days over 34c with lots of rain and humid days, as for the old wheel barrow it was a first prize in a school Xmas hamper when my kids were young was full of goodies it now grows Rosemary in it, I been retired for 8 years now so always have something to do.

2013 Triumph Thruxton in Brooklands Green picked it up 26 of Jan 2013 new (Australia day) and retired at the end of 2013.

Seriously talking bout road salt , you should live where I do , flurries &/or rain overnight tonight , it just starting, real winter here usually right after New Years , once they start salting usually end of Nov , it a nightly routine plus the snow, freezing rain , events , etc. …..

No thanks, just couldn't handle being laid up for months at a time just from the weather, just going for a week without being on a bike frustrates me only time I been off the road in 49 years was 3 left knee injuries, 2 licence suspensions and a broken arm from being chucked over the handle bars on my Norton, we do get a wet season here but that don't stop me riding.
Well 2 hours to go before he is due here to pick it up.

Happy belated birthday Ashley, hoping you many more good years. Good luck with your transaction, I know it's hard parting with something meaningful but hopefully it goes into good hands.

Well its gone and it was the first time I heard my own bike riding off, I will miss it but then the money is also good, we are going to keep in contact and he has already booked it in for a going over and 40k service, he didn't have to as it just had a service by me a few weeks ago, he is not a tools man and he wasn't even interested in the workshop manual, go figure.
