and so is stopping... almost as much a fad as fenders and speedos!

if i wanted a crotch rocket with race brakes i would buy one. but i want a norton cafe racer with the looks of a manx. its the look, sound and feel. not the blazing speeds.

who wants a disc front end?

bars and clip ons are tarozzi. the levers are tomaselli.

i love the itilian stuff... as soon as the commando is running i want to find a small italian single ducati or benelli.

my only fear on the rearsets is the back brake. it is going to require a strange linkage set up from what i can tell. my plan is to bolt them directly to the Z plates at the same location as the stock pegs.

i think this bike is going to be a much better unit to work with than the 71. it shows 8000 miles and i think it may be true... looks like it's never been taken apart but did end up spending some time in the rain... i am going to try and get it down to a bare frame today so i will update the "blog" with some aftermath photos.

side note: anyone have a good rear wheel? this one is shot! i could spring for having one laced up, but then i would want to do the front... anyone have some prices and info on getting aloy rims done?

To fix the footrests I would make up pairs (for each side) of triangular plates in 10mm alloy with the three std fixing holes and drill out the centre to accommodate the footrest fixing which would be hidden within the plates.
The first plate would be drilled for the bolt shank size and the second to surround the fixing nut. Might need three thicknesses. This would also space out the footrests to miss the chain case and the kickstart.

The chairman of the NOC france has a 350cc Ducati desmo for sale see:

Hey there,

I too love those levers - where did you get them and how much?

Anyone have any thoughts on levers Tomaselli vs Magura? - I've been using cheapo retro style levers - they look the part but I'm getting carpal tunnel on my clutch hand!

Magura for $32 from Colorado Norton Works
