Warning light assimilator question

I have a 73 with turn signals and want to know if I still need the warning light assimilator or can I get rid of it? Thanks.

The assimilator is nothing to do with the turn signals.

It's purpose is to switch the red charge warning lamp off when it senses there is a certain level of electrical output coming from the alternator (and switch the warning lamp back on again when it stops sensing output) but that doesn't necessarily mean you actually need it.
