I made these by using separate feeler gauges and wrapping them with shrink tube (3 layers) which makes them MUCH easier to handle. No more fumbling through the collection of gauges a dozen times to find the right one. I also used the next oversize. If the bigger one won't go then you know it's the correct size. This way you can double check your work. Then I used an ignition wrench and cut off the box end. This makes the whole job much easier.
Also applicable to adjusting isolastics and rotor to stator clearances.
