1929 Speed Six .

" The racing version of the Speed Six had a wheelbase of 11 feet (132 in; 3,353 mm)[10] and an engine with a compression ratio of 6.1:1 that produced 200 hp (150 kW) at 3500 rpm."

Bently 8 Litre

" The centerpiece of the 8 Litre was its six-cylinder engine based of the preceeding 6½ Litre. Displacing 7982 cc, the available 220 bhp could power even the heaviest bodies to 100 mph. To reduce weight the engine's crankcase was made from electron. " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Ad7rD52nkU

from cairns in Orztrawlyer " Atlas frame. Fits right in if you lay the engine on its side, place frame over rocker boxes then jump on frame to spring it out around the oil pump.
Built it years ago but sadly has had the Triumph disc front and rear wheel robbed off it for the restoration of the Triumph, so it is awaiting a bit of a tidy up. "

Matt, your last photo - is that a sportster motor ? I've always been interested in the later ones after H/D fixed all the problems. I believe there are even 5 speed boxes for them. They might actually be useful if built into a decent bike. I think one fitted to a MK3 Seeley could be good for something. - I can't imagine what - perhaps a BEARS class ? Did you tell me that the XLCR 1000 has two front heads ?

XR 750 .

XR 750 Head & XR 1000 head same part no as far as Im aware . Definately NOT two back heads . :p NOW theres a THING , a XR 750 in a Wideline or Manx ,
or a XR 1000 with alloy barrels . I think why the 1000s dropped vavles was as they wernt held WFO the clearances or oiling was a bit off . :?

Is a P&M Panther "Sloper" motor (bang at every lampost). It never was a twin.
Popular with the double adult sidecar folk. So managed to keep in production until 1967.
Not sure why anyone would want to slip one into a fb, unless it was just what they had in the shed?

Never !
One on the run out west where the roads are twisty but open generally , the old panther was still the other side of the posted signs , and wasnt a complete sluggard getting there .

Building a bike where you can get a bit enthusiastic and not put the license in total jeopardy the P&M would make a lot of sense .

Actually, it has a home... this guy has heavily modified a Rob North frame (believe it or not) and last time a saw it, the engine was in the frame. It looked.... Err.... Well... Impressive, crazy, desirable, pointless, all at the same time!!

Whatever ones taste, there's no denying the guys skill and tenacity !

Where would you fit the supercharger with that in a featherbed frame ?

Above the gearbox    !!

And hang on for takeoff....

Matt, that Sportster bottom end is way too pricey, I bought an ironhead 1000 1972 complete engine and frame for my Featherbed project, for US$800 last year on Craigslist L.A. I'm putting the motor in a Slimline frame and using Whitworth nuts and bolts, just so I can call it a 'Hardley Worthit'!
