A bit of Information about Unity Equipe. They have sold up and have transferred business to Bantam John. 012 4629 0021

Bantam John is just an old bike nutter... Accidentally turned businessman!

I knew of him on the outer circle of my circle of friends some years ago. He gets his name from the fact that as a lad, he just liked Bantams, this was when it was debatable if one was worth it, even as a runner, at £50! He just bought any that came up, ended up with sheds full of the damned things. He gradually started selling bits, and it kinda grew from there.

I've bought stuff from him since and found him to be OK.

Hi

John found me 11-1 compression pistons for my pre unit T100 engine. Something I had been looking for for 4 years. A while later he came back to me & told me he had found another set & a full set of rings. Brought carb spares from him. Always decent to deal with, tons of stock.
Not been near Unity for years in the 80s I get a lot of Triton bits of them. I still have there fantastic photocopied paper brochure, with its mind boggling array of pipes & levers etc. The last decade I have always thought they were massivley over priced.

I've bought a few things from them (Unity), front and rear mudguards, tank rubbers, front springs and seat loop. The only thing that I didn't have a problem with was the front mudguard and tank rubbers. The rear guard was....still is.... a bit gimped, the seat loop just shite and returned, the springs are just too hard and on a shelf unused. I needed another front mudguard but even Molnar hasn't got any at the moment. Yes, Chris, I think they are overpriced especially the tanks which you can get direct from the maker...TABII classics at a fraction of the cost.

Hi Dommie Nator

Ragged edge racing make the Dunstal front guard. New mould.

Thanks Chris but it's the Manx types I'm after, alloy with rolled edges.

Might be worth a try.
Thanks Nigel, they have but a bit too steep even before taxes and shipping.

True. They used to be very reasonable to us Brits, but currency markets (like nostalgia) ain't what they used to be!

Never bought from them myself, but they have an excellent reputation for quality with the racing boys.

Bantam John, who took over Unity Equipe, didn't have a website so the funding for the Unity one probably ran out.
Just my guess of course.

huh. one would hope john sees the value in a web footprint, if for nothing than just as a home for ye olde .pdf catalog.

Continue hoping then, very old school so only contactable by phone and then has a unique way of dealing with customers.

Then HTF is someone who is very deaf going to contact him if no one is available to use the phone for them-some people don’t live in the real world!
