Anyone had this message in the LCD panel?

I had 3 or 4 attempts to start my bike but it refused... then all my idiot lights started to blink/flash and 'UNIT' message appeared on lcd. When I pressed mode button 'WARN' appeared, pressed again and back to 'UNIT' (then back to WARN etc.). I turned ignition off and back on, idiot lights still flashing and same lcd message. Bike fired up with a bit of coaxing and after a minute (or two) the lights all went out and lcd reverted back to odo/trip/clock. This message didn't appear again.

Now for something even stranger. Bike was delivered to me with 19miles on the odo. Bike sat for two weeks in my garage without a battery. I fitted battery a few days ago and odo showed 45miles??? I scratched my head and decided to ignore it for now. After the UNIT WARN message went away today my odo went back to showing 19miles again!!!

If you hold the button when turning on the key this comes up. I believe its a fuel level warning indicator that you can set. But ive never actually done it.

Thanks Richard, that's reassuring! I wasn't touching the button when it appeared, but I was pretty persistent on the starter button for a while. I do wonder if I have an electrical gremlin associated with my mode button, especially given the odd odometer reading.

My digital display acts weird with the slightest of low voltage. Get it back from the dealership untended, I get UNIT, it freezes up, tripometer resets to zero then after a few rides and days on the tender, its fine. I forgot to put the tender on for about two weeks and sure enough, it did it yesterday. Reset to zero. Factory said its the switch, but I'm doubting that. If it were the switch, it wouldn't be so intermittent. Also, after a tank swap, I get the fuel light flashing. A lot. Not so much with my old tank, so something got jostled. I have the patch it. Have yet to install. I hate taking off the tank in case I get a case of the dropsies. sigh
