I'm attempting to compile as much history of my Commando since being built.
I have obtained the factory despatch record, but would like to dig a little more
Do any of our enlightened have a list of UK dealers for 1972, specifically Lincolnshire?

Many thanks

I do not have a list as such but Freddie Frith in Grimsby ? will dig out some 72 comics and look further

Seeing as you are looking in the UK, try the NOC. They may have the registration record to go with the factory record.

Seventies Lincolnshire dealers: A & A Cox (Grantham), Freddie Frith Ltd (Grimsby), Rustys Motorcycles (Scunthorpe), F.K. Sharpe Motorcycles (Balham).

Freddie Frith was a main dealer, have looked at a couple of mags but nothing.

The Instructional Literature wallet that was supplied with the Norton Commandos included a green World-wide & Dealers booklet. It is 54 pages jam packed full of dealer addresses and phone numbers. I just did a quick Ebay search and saw at least 4 different listings for this booklet if you are interested.

I was lucky in that I have the original sales receipt for my 1974 Commando. It was first sold at Tillman's Sport Center in Los Angeles, CA. Here is the current street view picture of the location. I am surprised that the building is still there. It has obviously been empty for a long time. I was surprised to find that the Norton logo is peering through the whitewash in the upper left hand corner of the building.

I read somewhere that Friths in Grimsby took delivery of the very first Commandos to be sent to home market dealers.

Did not know that.. counter intuitive - would have thought it would be one of the London dealers. Saw my first Commando in Sheffield May 1968.

Could you let me have the Flee bay address where you have seen this please.
I think this just finishes of a build noisily to have all this info, especially as I was bequeathed the bike from a dear friend so I'm putting together for his daughters a pictorial folder of the rebuild and plan to give this to them

Here's a page from the Dealer's and Distributor's book that includes the dealers you would be most interested in finding.

Fantastic... thank you
I have not found any mention apart from Freddie Frith. Could be wrong but I think Anna J Dixon , is part of the Frith family , and she is still around and active in the NOC. If you are lucky, she may have the shop records..
