Hi I have recently purchased a very nice 1976 MK3 850 Commando Electric Start bike.
At some time in it's past somebody has removed all the Electric Start components.
I am wanting to re-instate the Electric Start System.
I can buy new all the gears etc, but I was wondering if anybody out there in the UK has a good second hand Starter Motor?
Any advice on doing this would be appreciated! :)

** Also why are the front brakes so bad? the drums on my Bonny are so much better! **

use the new uprated starter if at all possible...mine is brilliant and acts like any modern bike. See Norvil for supply.

Hi Barry

There is masses of information on here for the starter system on a MK3 use the search tool. The stock starter motor is not strong enough. When you are buying starter drive components take a look at the sprag /one way clutches from Alliexpress (search on here ) and save a packet.

As for brakes the cheapest place to start is with a 1/2" 13mm master Cylinder, I use one from a 125 Suzuki Burgman around £25 ebay.
