We've had some discussions of tyres (how British I've become!) but not tubes. Are there any preferred manufacturers of tubes and any to avoid?

I got a 275/300 19 Bikemaster from tiresunlimited and it wouldn't hold air for 2 days. No pinches or anything, it just wouldn't hold air. If I were you I'd stick with a brand name. Trouble is that size is not made by the brand names.

Buy: Michelin, Metzeler or Continental inner tubes.
Avoid everything else!

Hey, L.A.B. , what do you REALLY think about the subject? Thanks!

I will only buy those brands of inner tubes, however they are probably easier to find the UK.

Actually just ordered some Michelins on your suggestion. Thanks, it's nice to get a non-convoluted answer to a board-asked question.

Harley dealers sell high quality Made in Japan Dunlop tubes that fit Commandos (and FWIW a Dunlop front tire that fits too, am running one I picked up new for $50 (at Cycle Gear) and like it too..and am NOT a Harley guy in general, just found these items work well  )

I have been happy with Bridgestone tubes. Easy to find in the correct size for the 100/90-19 tires and handle the abuse I give them getting them mounted up.
