On my 1976 mk3 I have Avon Roadrunners 4.10 x 19 running at 24 front and 26 rear. What pressures do you guys run your tyres on?

I run Bridgestone Battleaxes and was advised by Matt Rambow to run 28-30 front and 30-32 rear. FWIW - BrianK

Hey Brian how do you like those tires? I have a brand new set for my hopefully soon to be completed 72 Commando. Chuck. :)

Like 'em fine Chuck. Matt Rambow was the one who recommended them, and I've been pleased with them. Good stick, and while I've only put 2K miles on them, no significant wear so far - plus relatively inexpensive.

Thanks Brian, I also talked to Matt and that is what I bought as well. Glad to hear they are wearing well. If anyone knows it would be him, Great guy. Thanks again, Chuck.

Hey Brian and Chuck,
I am just curious to know what type of Battlax do you use on the rearwheel because I cannot find a Battlax for my standard 19 inch rearwheel (or did you guys changed it to 18 inch)??
Thanks Constant

I did change to a 18, Sorry to the purists but you get a lot more choices of shoes.

It's probably a BT-45. If so, it's the only dual compound bias ply tire for the Norton that I know of. I use them on my BMW K75.

I'm using Dunlop GT 501 on my 72 Combat. 19 front, 18 rear. Far superior to the Avon Super Venom I used before. More than twice the wear and handles great. I had problems with an Avon Super Venom rear. I developed high speed wobbles. I went through everything, all to no avail. Finally put a new rear tire on and bike tracked like an arrow. Changing to a 18 x WM4 rear rim was one of the better changes I've made. Greatly increases tire choices.
