Would it matter how much you weigh?
Ive always wondered about that as Im way below normal weight.

I run 40 rear, 32 front, 230 lb rider. Great results so far, 27,000 miles on (a couple sets) Avon RR's
 
Also, on the page that L.A.B. posted click on FAQs, that will take you here and this question:

"What pressures should I use on my classic bike?
Due to the modern materials used in the construction of these tyres, we normally recommend 25-28 psi front and 28-34 psi rear."

Concourse, How the hell do you get more than 5,000 miles out of a rear tyre"?????. I have tried the RR's and I'm using TT100s now. ??????????????????????????????? 32 front and 36 rear.
 
I think it very much depends on the tires you run.

I just installed a set of Conti Classic Attacks (radials) and (after some experimentation) to get a 10% rise in PSI from cold to hot, I run 34F/37R.

LOL, :P I don't. 5-6K rears, twice that on fronts. I realized after I wrote it that it was misleading. I meant: "I've been using the RoadRiders for 27K, no issues at that pressure, great handling, etc." :mrgreen:
 
It would be nice to get more that 3,000 miles out of a rear tyre. Never have though unless i get caught out and run one to the canvas, which I did do one time by mistake. [ forgot to check before I went on a long ride. thems the breaks when nothing goes wrong ]

3000 miles on a rear roadrider is what I have been getting since switching from roadrunner. As mentioned about twice that on the front. Pretty expensive to keep tires on these Commandos. TT100 in the past went about 1000 miles farther for me, but the Avon gives a much nicer ride. I got 8000 miles on the original rear Dunlop on the Sportster. I know big difference in size of tire, but the Harley weighs at least another 100lbs also.
 
I ve always run TT100 on both Commando and the Trident. It would be hard to pass state inspection at
3k on the back. At 3500 there will be barely a visible groove in the middle. I can approach 3x the life
of the rear on the front.

Wow! could be wheel alignment issues, my mate's Mk2 850 would devour the rear tyre. Do you guys go by the owners manual and use string ? it has always worked for me and now him.
