I have a Commando top fork clamp that has no cast in handlebar clamps. What's the story?

#2 I have 6 rubber muffler/head steady mounts. These are hard as a rock and I don't believe would be very good for vibration damping. Anybody know the correct durometer rating for the original muff mounts?

If the top fork clamp is alloy, it's probably aftermarket, or someone has cut/ filled them off.

Probably used in combination with clipons.

clip ons, yes. If this was a home modification they did a first rate job. No sign of welding or grinding.

I have a set like that, came with a truckload of parts many years ago. I might use it for a cafe project some day. Definitely a custom job, but very well done.

The rubber dampers should be available at most Norton parts distributors.

You could ask the woman you rebuilt the Commando engine for what a good muff mount rating is.
