I've always felt the junction box gives a bit more friction and if the end cables are too short they can hold the slides off the stops. I don't like them, I use a TZ Yamaha throttle with separate cables, as much as I don't like Japanese parts on a British bike. I like to wind the throttle open and see both slides disappear at the top of the chokes, and then drop closed with a solid click before I set the stop screws.
