Maybe a Suzuki specialist ,a gaiter from a t500 or gt750 etc

not sure what he is looking for? is it the little rubber boot? or maybe some kind of feral for the cable stop?
I have a heap of the little rubber boots but if he needs them but they dont serve much of a purpose.

I guess you are asking about the brake cable casing and ferrule stop. I suggest you fabricate one out of a suitable aluminum alloy rod and have it welded to the brake shield by a professional welder. Anything else is flimsy and will put you at risk. Beware of possible warping of cast aluminum.

if its the cable anchor point you need then you may be able to use a bsa/triumph bolt on type as they bolt through the brake plate

Thanks guys it is the mettalic cable ancor that i need , there is nothing on the front brake I have .

Hi,

On my Norton TLS brake that part is a bolt on and replacements are available from RGM (see link below). If your part is integral to the plate you need to do what an earlier poster said, grind it off and drill a hole for a bolt on replacement. However be aware that the same part for the Dominator SLS is nearly identical but has a different thread (BSF vs UNC I believe) and therefore the brake cables are different.

I'd be inclined to refer to that as a "Cable Anchor", and they can come in a number of variations. One, as part of the backing plate like you show; two, cast as part of the lower fork leg (stanchion); three, a separate bracket that is sandwiched with the fender mounting bracket; plus others, I'm sure. These are just what come to mind that I've seen in the past. Any of them are viable, and the separate bracket that uses the fender mount might be the easiest to fabricate.

I really think the guy is asking for the ferrule at the end of the cable. I've been wrong before, but looking a the picture he just needs to get a ferrule and put on the end of the cable sheath. They should be available, I've heard of making your own cables and the parts should be available from Venhill or others. Or just buy a new cable. I could be wrong.

I need to be more precise .
On the 850 cafe racer project I will install a twin leading brake system that was design initially for an enfield in order to remove the disk brake system for a more old look .

As you can see on the picture the brake plate has nothing to receive and stop the steath brake .
So I want to install one

I wouldn't try to fit a cable anchor to that backplate, without substantially locally building up the plate thickness with weld.

As TT said, that brake plate look too thin to fit a cable anchor to. Welding it up to reinforce it may distort it horribly. I also struggle to see where you'd put the anchor and still get a good cable run / brake arm angle.

Can't you mount it on the brake torque arm instead? Meaning, the plate that connects the brake plate to the fork leg to stop it rotating? You often see these made in such a way as to extend to the required point for the cable anchor.

I also have to say, that brake does not look like it will win any short braking distance awards when fitted into a heavy Commando...

I take that's an Indian made front wheel/brake ? I'd be very careful on the road with that fitted it's just not going to haul up a commando too well

Yes it is an indian one .
I have a 750 norton wheel stock and it is same size and plates are the same .
I know that if I come back from disk to twin leads , brake capacity will decrease .
Next step will be to fit a correct 4 leads shoes brake

Ok it's your bike I would anchor the cable off of the torque arm if you can, I have a 4ls on my road rocket and I would consider it marginal at best!!! Good luck with it
