Don’t give up .Received letter today for recall, I live in Scotland and I'm booked to got o the TT in 3 weeks so that looks like it's bolloxed, I like the bike but this is the last straw for me, at 50 it was either going to be a Ducati or a Norton then I heard the horror stories about the Donnington bikes so bought a Ducati in fact I've had 3 then traded my Diavel in for the Norton unfortunately it's turned out to be a big mistake .
Get in touch directly mate, explain the TT circumstance - others have done the same and had their recall expedited for the same reason.Received letter today for recall, I live in Scotland and I'm booked to got o the TT in 3 weeks so that looks like it's bolloxed, I like the bike but this is the last straw for me, at 50 it was either going to be a Ducati or a Norton then I heard the horror stories about the Donnington bikes so bought a Ducati in fact I've had 3 then traded my Diavel in for the Norton unfortunately it's turned out to be a big mistake .
I will phone today I do like the bike it's absolutely beautiful to look at and riding is a pleasure, but this is the latest in a series of problems with the bikeGet in touch directly mate, explain the TT circumstance - others have done the same and had their recall expedited for the same reason.
I’ve little doubt that in the end you will grow to love your ‘big mistake’!

I still haven't had a date either and its frustrating now. Especially with the weather. I keep calling them and keep getting told it will be soon but to no avail. Maybe they are prioritising the TT visitors, and to be honest that's fair enough. I've been to the IOM many times but not going this year, but I would happily have my bike on the second group if they put known TT visitors first and made that clear. Its the lack of communication that's so annoying. Right now I'd just rather have a firm date so I can get the service booked in. My dealer has cancelled my service now and won't re-book until the bike is fixed. That's going to add probably 5 weeks minimum to the end of whatever happens with the recall.Received letter today for recall, I live in Scotland and I'm booked to got o the TT in 3 weeks so that looks like it's bolloxed, I like the bike but this is the last straw for me, at 50 it was either going to be a Ducati or a Norton then I heard the horror stories about the Donnington bikes so bought a Ducati in fact I've had 3 then traded my Diavel in for the Norton unfortunately it's turned out to be a big mistake .
You did good.My bike is finally being returned, delivery date next Wednesday. BTW, this means the whole process from collection to return has taken 3 weeks exactly and my location is only 60 miles from the factory.
Same here, last email I sent was to give the details they requested.. that was on 30th April. Got the Recall letter last week. Just emailed them to ask when my bike will be collected.. we'll see if I get a reply tomorrow. Though I think the collection / fix is being done by a third party, so how much control Norton have over whose bikes get collected and when I don't know.I still haven't had a date either and its frustrating now. I've heard of owners phoning multiple time, being promised call backs, but then nothing... but if no reply tomorrow will call on Tuesday. My advice would be to call them and not rely on email. It worked for me and I appreciate I was lucky.
Last year my Ducati Supersport went back to the dealer 3 times while they tried to sort out a problem. Sure that is probably an exception whereas there seem to be a few remaining ingrained issues with the 961 but I still think it is an exceptional bike and not much else gives a riding experience like it. It is unfortunate that this was due to a manufacturing problem but unlike us 'Donny' owners you have the advantage of a proper manufacturing company supporting you. I hope you get the vibe back for it - since Stu sorted my problems out (Donnington bike issues) its reliable and I just love riding it.Received letter today for recall, I live in Scotland and I'm booked to got o the TT in 3 weeks so that looks like it's bolloxed, I like the bike but this is the last straw for me, at 50 it was either going to be a Ducati or a Norton then I heard the horror stories about the Donnington bikes so bought a Ducati in fact I've had 3 then traded my Diavel in for the Norton unfortunately it's turned out to be a big mistake .
Disconnect the clock , never put mine on the trickle charger now.Last year my Ducati Supersport went back to the dealer 3 times while they tried to sort out a problem. One big advantage of these bikes is that they are relatively simple. Most issues seem to be around sensors and worst case you have a set ready to swap in which is relatively easy to do. My Ducati had an intermittent issue with one of its ECUs - big bucks main dealer and even they struggled. Can't even see how to get to the plugs to do a swap....
PS have to admit had to use the Ducati this morning as I forget to leave the Norton on trickle charge........![]()
