TVS 961 RECALL....

AT LAST...! after 7 weeks off the road... my bike is to be picked up thursday... i hope. then an unknown wait before i can book it in-again- for it's first service... which is another 4 weeks wait.
Mine is also getting picked up on Thursday.
Hopefully they will turn it around quickly

Yup, I suppose there’s always gonna be those at the front of the queue, happy that their bike has been done and returned within a week or two, whilst others find themselves at the end of the queue - likely related to location’n’logistics I suppose.

Not a ‘snow ball in hells chance’ of rejecting the bike on them apples I would’nt think. Hope you get it sorted soon though👍!

Mine is getting picked up in Runcorn this morning.
I know of one more in the area also getting picked up today. So maybe they are now collecting from the Cheshire area. They did originally say they would try to get mine sorted in time for the TT.
But at least it's getting done now. IV also takes lots of pictures and videos this morning to show there is no damage to the bike before it's loaded.

Yep I'm in Cheshire, pick up is tomorrow.

I know nearly everyone with a new Norton is getting the recall work done by the factory.
I personally would do it myself if I were in that situation.
If I were in the UK I’d have Stu do it, over the factory.

I understand why everyone is having it done by Norton, legal, warranty, and delivery purposes.
But opening up the cases, cleaning, inspecting and addressing the improperly installed hardware with thread lock isnt rocket science.

For me, it would alleviate the down time, stress, possibly of damage and delays.

Many people, at least on this forum already have or do their own bike maintenance and repairs on older bikes.

The issue is .. do we know what the correct thread lock to use, or the correct torque setting, can we buy the new gasket that will be needed.. I hear there is a shortage of these, as demand has unexpectedly spiked.. finally of course if you own a newish expensive bike, do you want to void its warranty?..

I would imagine there are some people on here who can't even tie there own shoelaces never mind read a torque wrench. 😄
