I've acquired a TSS crankshaft. I'm hoping to use it in my T140 project engine but I need info about what rods I can get that will make this work. Can anyone tell me if the big end journals are positioned with their side-to-side centres in the same place as the T140 journals? (In other words, are they in line with the T140 cylinder bores? I understand that the TSS rods were "offset" to allow for the greater thickness of metal between the bores). If they are, it should be do-able. If not, I might have to abandon the idea.

Thanks for any info / advice / experience.

The TSS conrods were offset at the little end only to suit the TSS wider bore.
I believe it is do-able and even done on TSSs to get over their own barrel problems. I think Les Williams's Buccaneers used them to get a stronger crank.

You might try Keith at Big D in Dallas. I think I remember him telling me many years ago that they had used a TSS crank in one of their T140 racers.

a measuring stick , across say the two journal r h flanks , compared to r h barrel face dimn , ( bore centers ) .

if a ' narrowed ' ( on wider side ) TSS rod , I E inner ? half journal width x 2 , is within a few mm of std T 140 Dimn ,

likely , shelby wright .

Deck Hights ? aftermarket 750 conversion barrels would give T 120 deck hight .

Generally , lighter rods & pistons , low ( ish ) dome , are gunna outgun weighty inertial high crown flame front travel retardent ones .So There .

1955 " Class C " regs , gave 7.5:1 max C.R. , in the untidy states . Thus the Class C T 100 R 136 mph was on THAT C.Ratio ! Which was good for 8.000 ( rpms ! )

The 67 ish ' Pear Flank ' cranks maybe the best ' Tarmac ' crank for stropping it . A bit crankey for dirt road touring or trials . Like wot a road race cranks a notch
lighteran a rally crank . FLYWHEEL ! Anyow .

Gudgeon Pin diameters matching .
