Triumph t140 steering stem sleave nut

Would anyone know if the thread of the steering stem on the t140 was changed at some point?
I have a chrome steering head sleeve nut that won't fit the stem
The thread appears more corse in the nut

Early OIF bikes had a coarser thread. Not sure what year it was changed but certainly before disc front ends began to be fitted. I have a feeling it may have been one year only (1971) but not sure about this. All T140, T150V, T160 etc have the same (fine) thread.

Looks like I've got a sleeve nut from a conical hub type yoke then
