It just MIGHT make it... (pretty well-built, you've got to admit)

The provenance could very well add several grand to the eventual fetching price...

So, the only part that is "1970" is the frame. But Norton weren't making wideline frames then.
Actually it's neither wideline or slimline. The rear of the frame is totally welded from different tube than a wideline.
So that makes it a bitsa of unknown date.

I suppose that at least the carbs aren't cardboard cutouts of monoblocs! 🤣 🤣

...and who verified the start was "cold"?

It's a special and should be viewed as such, whatever they say about it
And hopefully those carbs have woken that engine up a bit! Because the standard engine/power output is a bit underwhelming in a chassis like that

But have you ridden one of those 900 triumph twins?
I've ridden a carbd one and an injected one and I was completely underwhelmed by both
I've never ridden a 1200 but I've heard they are on another level
 
Hey Dave Degens used to weld angled rear subframes onto Slimline frames like that, to make them look more Manx!

These guys have also welded bigger gusset plates, to better mount the rear of the engine/gearbox unit.

All the welds I can see there are messier than Norton used to do though.

Did a Ride with a guy that a 900 against my Stock 850.
When done he commented how well the Norton ran and his Triumph gave nothing away to it.
Next ride, he had a 1200... Whole different outcome....
