Trident 3 into 1

GRM

Bet you lil 450 did not sound that sweet , last weekend ~ !!!

But if you check the Imola post I made the comment that the Ducatis under stress' are up there with the Brit triples ~ IMO ~

Heres John g.s T160 built in 1980 at Crowsnest , Sydney .

Trident 3 into 1

Got F.T.D. at some annual hillclimb in a park here then .
Sans electric foot . hyde Valves , h.d. valve seats , W&S springs .
30 mm Concentrics , 3 - 1 cable ( junction ) not the Std. issue .
Used 9.000 . says VF750s couldnt get a look in , no issue .
1/2 race Hyde Cams , fly cut pistons for valve pockets , balanced .
Mostly Standard , stock alloy rods . Balanced engine internals .

Yeah, its not like Matt would take it past 4,000rpm anyway [seriously].

Snibor had to all but ride pillion with me to make me push to 6 K on my Triple ~

Now I am very comfortable skimming 6500 these days.. May be I been riding Commandos to long !

But being essentially a stock engine with the addition of a moderately gas flowed head am happy to stay around 6-6500 ~

And I do know Steve generally puts Carillos or such in his rebuilds ~

Steve told us he was averaging 100mph around the IOM and peaked at 153 mph on this bike .. care to correct me there Steve~

Hi Stuart

conditions on the day dictate average speeds so you cant compare one rider with another or bike with another unless they are out at the same time and close to each other ... the weather can change very rapidly in different parts of the island which impacts different competitors at different times ..

in practice last year 105MPH average for one lap and 148MPH through Sulby but ran out of gearing ...

this year because we started behind the 500 singles which are mostly a lot slower and became an issue getting past , the weather and track conditions were awful we went 138MPH through sulby and just under 101 average was the quickest lap ..

Regardless ~ thats a tad too quick for this ol' fart ~ :D :D

I gave my self a scare several days ago when I went through a left >right hand kink/ elbow at 145 kmh ~ admittedly I had glanced at the Speedo for less than one second ~ !! Thought for a split second I was headed for the "infield" !!

Ms M reckons that the IOM is for the REAL racers ~ and the Stoner and Rossi's of this World could learn considerable humility from the Irish road road race scene full stop!!

And as you know how she hates bikes these days despite her history with motorcycles ~ BUT she will ALWAYS tune in when ever we get the IOM or Irsh road racers ~ she loves them !!

Manx gp or classic tt as it will be known next year will be televised

Not sure of details as of yet ..
