torque wrench mod

I would like to use a torque wrench on the crankshaft nuts, MK3. I have heard that if a box end wrench is modified so that it sits 90 degrees to the torque wrench head there will be no change in the reading. But the longest one I need will be about 6" away from the torque wrench square drive, Will the long length not effect the reading?

Also, remember that anything you apply to the fittings - oil, grease, thread locker, antisieze, etc - also requires adjusting the torque spec.

Never got a chance to read it - pop-ups kept redirecting me to ads. Three tries and gave up.
