TODAY

So........
I went for a ride this morning and after doing about 40 miles of local back roads, I passed by a watering hole that looked to be having some kind of bike event going on.
I stopped in and saw that it was their annual bike show.

The guys running the thing wanted me to enter my bike but since it was a beautiful day I was like "no way man, I'm going for a ride".
well, after riding 80 more miles I ended up back at the place where they proceeded to talk me into entering my bike the bike show.
I did, and out of maybe 20 bikes in the class (mostly shovelheads), my bike took first place.

Pretty cool I guess.
I got a trophy, went home and picked up my woman, then we rode another 75 miles before calling it a day.
All in all, not a bad day......... 200 miles, a few beers and a trophy.
People around here sure seem to like looking at Nortons.

I didn't take my camera so no pics from the actual show, but I just took these in the back room of my shop just so that
I would have something to document the day.





I don't know what the qualifications were to be placed in the "Antique" class, but my closest competition was a Really nice Liberty Edition Sportster that
took home second place.

No competition! Whatcha workin on in the background there?

Most motorcycle enthusiasts know enough to give Nortons proper recognition when it comes to the classics.

I know the feeling. Everywhere I go, somebody walks up to me and asks about it. I live in Colo Springs. Is it just a Colorado thing? I doubt it.

A couple of weekends ago I went as a spectator to a bike show in Pallisade CO (maybe about 50 miles from here) and Nortons were well represented.
There being about a half a dozen on display. Yesterday mine was the only one in attendance.

I can only guess that a 100 mile round trip must be too long of a ride for those guys.
Funny thing about this deal was that I wasn't intending on showing my bike so it wasn't shined up or even wiped off.

There are quite a few Old Bikes here on the western slope of the Rocky Mountains, but you never see them out on the road. What's up with that ??????
