To compare

I live at the far end of the village, 100Yards downe the road and it's my track, 4 miles of fast twisty A road to the next town, i even have my own names for the sections,
Church straight, down to Banana Bends,[ thats a S bend], into dye Works , [Tricky corner] then whitemore straight. sweep into lay by corner...long straight thro Dane in shaw left hander, up golf course bank, hard right with a big dip.....arrive at Mossly...turn about and back home...been doing this "track" for 45 years.

went down there this morning on My RZV 500, Its just so differant, where i can turn on the commando early ,the RZ as to be treated with more care, at 10000 rpm the two strokers firing 40000[ forty thousand] times per minute..compared to 6000 for the MK3, Power delivery on the two bikes is night and day .
The Norton is like an eagle, the RZ is a Angry Hornet! It no wonder Kenny Roberts was hailed an Hero..and three GP wins crowned the guy ..imagin a 150 bhp, 200lb V 4 two stroke..with skimpy tyres!

Love that analogy My Honda CBR's are like that in some ways, with the high reving engine with not much low end torque...they buzz in a 4 stroke way tho

Alrighty anyone that names their private course turns makes perfect sense to me. W/o many land marks mine tend to start with D's, Damn Slow Crook, Devil Dare Drop, Dead man's Turn... The sense I get on a spunky Combat vs other cycles is the Combat delivery seems to match my own desires better in sense of my inputs get more expected linear intuitive increases while the power bands of others either delay or get too aburt for the funest way to take familiar turns. Wife told me not to call it Deadman's Turn with her in the car and i agree'd as bad program to hold in mind so close to the blind edge.

We had names for almost all of the 10 miles of corners and straights in Griffith Park, many though were named after the nearest named spot, for instance, "that downhill right hander after Horse Crossing Straight," or "the left hander after Tiki Gods, going uphill."

I have my own as well John; 'Collins (my surname) Corner' half a mile up my road where I broke my collarbone and two ribs last November on a pushbike at 17mph, slam dunk...

:!: Fred, that is just the "Pits" bad fall and bone breakage on a push bike. But a car hitting you at 17mph, would do you no good! My little home track that i have travelled for 45 yeas on bike and fast cooper mini's is a nice bit of road, only changes over those years is a 40 limit in places...so i am told :lol:
I know ever bump, hole and how each corner apex's , "lay by" is a dodgy bend and needs respect, i have had my mini cooper 40 years age ,let go there! If anyone as had a Cooper they will know when a cooper loose's grip :!: It's an almighty "car" tank slapper...only once! Never pushed it that hard again, i had the girl friend in ..the look on her face is not forgettable. ....surprised she married me after that :!:
