I have never installed a boyer on a triumph 500 or any triumph for that matter . Is it any different than a Norton? My neighbor took his timing cover off and didn't mark anything. Find TDC, set magnets pretty much horizontial then line up white mark on pickup plate and check with timing light??
No instruction paperwork has been found....... TIA

The only basic difference to the Norton setup is that the cam rotates the opposite way, therefore you need to set the Boyer rotor using the clockwise hole in the Boyer pickup plate.

You don't set either type at TDC.

Boyers are set with the crank at the full advance position (Usually 38 deg. BTDC for Triumph twins).

Insruction sheets are on the Boyer website: http://www.boyerbransden.com/instructions.html (Tri. twins KIT00052)
