One of my bikes has a plastic washer between the grip and throttle housing. This keeps the grip from sticking when you turn it.

I’ve seen it called a ring leaf (?) from Yamaha. But really it’s just a big plastic washer. Does anyone have a good source for these?

I’ve used an old plastic food container in the past. Get a compass or better still dividers, mark out two concentric circles of the correct diameter, and cut it out.

Cheers,

cliffa.

Appreciate you're not in the UK Dave but I've had good service from these folks for bespoke sized washer in nylon and PTFE (handy for rearsets).

I'm sure someone in the US must be offering a similar service.

Very easy and cheap way (rather than having to make them) for one off sizes. They do a range of thicknesses.

Has to be over 1in ID to go over throttle tube. And less that 2in OD (preferably in the 1.75in range).

Check the catalog pages - maybe another size would work. You might need to buy a bag of them though:

I don't have a loose one to measure. Anyone have the specs?

I have a loose one (front, I think) that I can measure tonight. But I'm pretty sure the hole is less than an inch.

Why not just back the grip off by 1/16 inch?

You can but I've got the big soft GT style grips and they tend to move a little.

What started this was that I thought this was a common part, but as I look into it apparently it's not?

Does anyone else have this washer on their throttle?

They used to come with pairs of BAJA foam grips ('Badger' grips as we used to call them in the UK).

(Approximately)
ID = 0.996"
OD = 1.768"
Thickness = 0.030"

I always cut them out of empty 1 gallon water jugs. common scissors do the trick.
