Hi forum and a very merry new year to you all, Can someone please tell me if the single throttle cable( grip to junction is a geniric type that i might find at my local truimph or harley dealer, mine is fraying and i dont really want to have to order a cable from O/S The freight would exceed the price of the part and i dont ned anything else at the present,

Thanks
Rob

If you have a yamaha dealer near you get a new banshee throttle cable it's single down near the carbs then dual to the carbs.

Hi Rob
Try Modak in Melbourne. There's not much they don't have. They do COD

I'm assuming the top choke cable should be the same.(haven't checked, it's too cold out there!) If so you could swap them (until you can replace or repair).

Most local bike shops should be able to replace the steel frayed inner cable for you at a reasonable cost. If you have a soldering iron you can do it yourself. Just make sure you measure the difference of the inner and outer cable accurately 1st.

I always made my own cables. The rear brake cable used to be the worst for me. I finally made one out of a car emergency brake cable and it never wore out again.
