Hi all, not been able to get onto computer much as I am in Iran until Christmas and the comms system is not too great and computer connection where I am is not reliable, can't even call the UK most times, so with too much time on my hands I got thinking about doing some subtle changes to my Commando.
Purists look away now!!! No nothing too radical , maybe a slightly different appearance, I have at present a Candy Apple Red Interstate, which I do like it's appearance; but I thought maybe smaller, different tank and seat and different colour scheme, possibly shorter 'guards, and I can always change back to the Interstate scheme anytime I wanted too.
I thought of going down the Roadster tank route but the price of these tanks is getting ridiculous, so I am thinking of looking for a curvacious style tank that will fit over the largish main spine on the bike, I saw a pic of the Hi -Rider tank on a standard bike and thought it looked good, I can make up fixing brackets to fit so that is not a problem, so does anyone know of a tank of any make that may fit?
All ideas gratefully accepted and considered.
Cheers
Robert

Look for a HiRider tank. They have a flat trackish look to them but am unsure if it will fit with your current seat. Very cool tank and never mind the purists, as it's your bike and you can paint kittens on it if you want to.

Ha ha. I was hoping you were gonna say you painted it WITH kittens. Kittens don't leave any streaks in the paint!

No but it takes hours to rub down to get the hair out the paint, also where would I stick the handle?

I like that late Corvette coppery-orange color. I think it would look great on a Norton.

Hi,Robert here's a pic of my 74 850............

Actually, kittens are excellent for buffing out a good wax job.

I guess it's time to call the SPCA... to see if they have some kittens for "adoption"

See.

Hi Rider tanks do look awesome.

The more I see Hi Rider tanks the more I wish I didn't buy an alloy tank from Mr. Wilcox.

Now that IS nice Arc!...... now on look out for a Hi rider tank! Where did you get your seat?
Robert

The seat came from my local shop(Thor Motorcycles)but needed serious mods to fit,it is a Le Pera and i had to chop a 8" section of the steel base to get it to fit! but i think it looks the dogs and it's comfy too. Here's a better pic of tank and seat.
