There was plenty of room to put the balance pipe back under the transmission same method that Ducati and Moto Guzzi used, maybe the isolastic system would have been a problem with the primaries joined so far back vibration wise and cracking.
Then again maybe not, looks like it was never tried to see.

As far as the noise law in this state (NSW) you might get registration but you can be stopped anytime and could then get a letter requesting your bike be re checked.
The law actually says the system must be that which was fitted at the factory, that might be an out for the Commando if you have the Norton embossed peashooters.

Not sure if this is any reference to me, but…….
You can certainly fit a balance pipe further down the system on a Commando if you want. Centre stand would probably have to go. I would be a bit concerned about ground clearance around corners, but that could all be taken care of one way or the other. Staintune use their dyno to trial various designs or systems but a one off ask would have to be very expensive.

Noise checks? Certainly you are right. I often wonder why I never see a noisy HD pulled up being questioned. Maybe it's like never seeing a cicada coming out of his shell (weird analogy), you never see it but it does happen.

A Commando is not overly noisy in my opinion unless you let it loose in the gears. If you go around doing that all day, I guess eventually the police will have you. Kind of "stick your neck out, get it chopped off". There is a young guy in my street planning to buy a red hot Ducati, and another the other way getting a rocket ship Beemer. Norton/Ducati/BMW all in one quiet street back of Mittagong township. I hope we all don't go drag racing at the same time, eh Time?

Is he bleeding his front brake?
Or asking someone to do his rear for him?

Nice riding boots!

I'm wondering what else does Time have in his "reserved" magazine collection?

Sorry phil

A sling back is lever and rod assy on a Norton TLS front brake .

Hmmm
I had one of those on an early Commando, but the SLS on my Dominator ate it for breakfast. I thought you might have been talking about Time's mate's riding shorts. I was wondering if I might find a pair at Big W. I've already got the top.

Also going to ask, regarding air leaks in the balance tube, would Perkins Paste do the trick?

Perkins paste sounds like something you rub on your bum. I run 750 I was on this post as I am going to put a custom exhaust on my hopper bike but can't decide on what would look the best and still give a bit of pep. If you haven't see ron fratturelli's bike on utube look it up and tell me what you think. It won sturgis a couple of years ago . If I could paste it here I would need to get my daughter to show me.

Cheers

Where it says 'Share, click that, a code will appear and probably already be highlighted blue, right click, left click 'Copy.
In you post here you will see 'Video in one of the boxs above the typing box.
Click that and the code will appear, in between the brackets right click, left click 'Paste.
Hit the Preview button to make sure the You Tube video is there and you are good to go.

This is all I could find but it seems to have been built for a leprechaun.

Singin it boss ,

Time Warp again. These shoes for hire!

I think Time has left the building.
He's climbing Mt Everest again!!

Phil

I was out fettling the Fraulein's garden fence, next big ride is Argentina in February, Ludwig also on his Norton.
I only got the Royal Enfield to 17000 feet.

Time warp

Cheers for link and info.

When I see Ron's (I feel I can call him ron as a bought parts from him on ebay) and then look at the bike I built .i think my wee hopper bike is lovely, if you can imagine what happens when you walk into the North Sea in winter that is how I feel, totally inadequate.

If you bump into Gino Rondelli in Argentina much sure he buys lunch .

Fettling or fondling?
The fence or the fraulein?

17000 feet???
I did better than that in a Fokker 50 with 50 terrified passengers!!
Keep tryin Time. Report back when you've hit 20,000.
I managed 25,000. Admittedly empty.

That Barry Sheene's a bit on the slow side ,that's him just getting Marks joke now he's rolling about laughing .

The exhaust system on the 750SFC Laverda seems to work well - with the cross under the motor. Similar might suit a Commando.

Perkins Paste would paste it here for you. Ozzies of my vintage would/should remember Perkins Paste from early school days. We used it to stick our drawings on the walls. It would stick anything to anything and you could even eat it, though it was a bit too salty for my liking. Why, I saw it in a shop just yesterday (about 50 yrs ago)!!
