I have sold my Moto Guzzi. In so doing I have eliminated the only electric start bike I had and at the same time erased the temptation to go riding on it rather than kick something else into life.
My Quota was purchased by Nick, who flew into Dallas TX from Seattle Washington, purchased the bike and headed west. He made it to his destination of course. Nick is a life long motorcyclist and we had a great conversation about Nortons we have owned and loved, Moto Guzzies and Moto Morini motorcycles of which I have owned two and which he race on the salt. Ya gotta love the motorcycling world!
I took the Norton out today on my favorite road. It was perfect riding weather. (Cool in the wind but warm in the sun.) The right side exhaust remained in the head this time and the only issue was a bit of a cough. I had finished my ride with a 70mph run down highway 11 toward home. I stopped at the traffic light to make a left and upon acceleration up a pretty gradual hill it farted and coughed a bit. It felt like it was running out of gas but it wasn't. The Amals still do not like to idle and it makes stops a bit of a crap shoot blipping the throttle for convenience.
I also noticed that the isolastics are set up pretty solid. It's great for handling but it does a bit of foot tingling and hand numbing at speed.
