Some if not most of us probably recall working on British motorcycles before the internet blessed our homes with international instant communications. I also recall being 20, broke, and in a hurry to get my bike on the road so I could hang out with my buddies. Then it happened....real life, work, marriage, daughters, bald spot, houses, cars, dogs, etc. Sadly I sold off my pair of Velocettes (a 47 KSS and a 65 Venom) and my Triumph as they seemed to be part of my life that had drawn to a close. 25 years on and sure enough a 75 Norton Commando followed me home. Now I take great pleasure in getting it right but still you need information to deal with the unknown. Every time I have run into a roadblock, I have received instant and accurate information from this forum from like minded folks all over the world. Amazing. Thanks is definately in order!

Ok here is photographic proof that the more things change...you know the rest. This was taken in Santa Cruz, Ca in 1984. Pre helmet law I might add. Thats a 68 Atlas, Bmw R something, and my 67 Triumph TR6.

Yes, but that is in '72 in MD. I went to HS in the 9th grade in Salinas in '59.

Wow that was a long time ago. You would not recognise the town anymore. Its grown (160k population on the sign) and has a lot of gang problems. In fact some say the best way to see Salinas is in the rear view. Sounds like you were ahead of the game.
