How fast can your bike REALLY go? Here's an easy and LEGAL way to find out.
www.texasmile.net
No racing license needed, just nominal bike prep (tape up lights), full leathers & good helmet.
I'll be there Thursday afternoon to help setup the entry tent, working at various points around the track all weekend, and conducting a short Sunday morning Christian service before the racing starts.
The place is the Goliad Industrial Air Park north of Beeville (see the txmile site), which is shut down twice a year for this event (April & October).
April's top speeds included a 260+ turbo Hyabusa (a new record for the standing start mile), and 250+ Lamborghini.
I would have topped both of those, but I was busy working the event.
I am also tasked with staffing the various stations, and would GREATLY appreciate volunteers with confirmation as soon as you are sure you can make the event. THANX A TON!
