What's the difference between the Tympanium and the Podtronic?

Why don't you use covered spades?
 
Tympanium, Podtronix, Mity max, Sparx, Boyer powerbox are all pretty much the same.
 
Finally got the rising rate linkage upgraded by a friend with a lathe who turned out two perfectly sized bushings to weld up to the link plates, reducing the number of separate parts, and up-sizing the diameter of the spindle hardware.

It's very crowded back here, but everything fits just perfectly.

Title hearing tomorrow, should have the clear title in plenty of time to get it to the Bator auction at the Barber Vintage Festival next month.

The hardest thing for me is to restrain myself from trying to pull hairy wheelies and blasts over the ton...
 
Big thanx to Joe (jsouthard) for the pair of Amal 932s to replace Cookie's loaners; the bike is back up and running better than ever, the rear suspension feels just fine (no appreciable difference, but I know it's more stout).

Got a cash offer for the bike today, I'm mulling it over. It would mean barely breaking even with not much to show for 150 hours of shop time; but in this economy, and having struck out on e-bay, I'll probably take it.

Actually, I got a "twofer" offer to include my '53 T-Bird custom chopper in the deal. I had just sent in my registration for the Bator auction at Barber yesterday, then today my phone rings with this cash offer out of the blue. It's a buyer for a guy in England; he fills up a container then ships 'em over.
 
Bike was sold back in October to a nice young lady that now gets to boast it's publication in the 2011 NOC calendar as well as the January issue of Cafe Racer magazine. It might yet appear on the Cafe Racer TV show, that's yet to be determined...
 
The blue one in my avatar is a nicer bike in every way, although the alloy bike did better wheelies (if you are into that sort of thing).
