My tach has started to run fast, quite fast.

The only thing that I have done recently is replace the fork tubes (big shout out to @Madnorton for his help on that one) and I didn't disconnect the clocks from the cables or cups for that. I just wrapped them and set them on the headlight.

I didn't have any work done on the clocks on my recent rebuild, so am looking to understand if this is simply cooncidental to the fork job, and it is needing some attention or if something I did I the process has caused the problem?

My tacho quit on my Roadster a few weeks ago for no reason .
It looked like the flexi drive cable walked up the outer after the swaged square section parted at the bottom end of the cable and put a lot of pressure on the tacho internals. Only thing that I could find that was amiss.

Its due back from Parrotts in CHCH.

Also Robins Instruments in AKL

I used Parrotts for 2 x tacho repairs and 2 x speedo refurbs

My Scitsu racebike tacho is at Robinsons for a battery change

Regards Mike

Fullerton recommended Robinson as well. How much did the repairs run you per clock?

See the comment about the inner cable made by Parrotts, they mustve realised there was too much load on the drive part of the tacho.
