I am just starting a new project. 1979 t140 e into a Rickman mettisse, I now have the engine out and ready to strip, it needs it after years laying in a barn.
is there a manual available for this to download online. can post some photos if interested. cheers Neil

thanks Mike, I have had a look, it covers the whole lot but is password protected so I cant print off and take into workshop. guess I need a computer on the bench now.

Oops.

Sorry, it's been a while. I thought they also had shop manuals...

Thanks I have printed a load off and stripped the engine as far as I can go, now I need to sort some pullers for the cam pinions etc

You can split the cases without removing the cam pinions, and that is what I would normally do, unless the camshafts were in need of replacement etc..

thanks for that L.A.B. I have borrowed a manual now and have been slowly working through the strip down in the spare hours I have.
I did take the cam pinions off, the cams seem to have a few ridges. But the whole engine needs to be cleaned out as water and oil mix seems to have laid dormant for years. somebody has been in there as the pistons are brand new, the end of the crank has been whacked with a hammer and little witness things that are a bit bodgy. are these cams as good as the e #### that most people refer to for a triumph rebuild. I am fitting this into a Rickman mk 3 scramble frame. can you recommend anybody in the Uk for a bit of head work or should I leave as standard. I like a bit of mid range power, and reliability. I will post some photos soon and keep a report on going cheers Neil

e#### ?

Do you mean E3134?
Changing the T140 exhaust camshaft and altering the inlet timing is supposed to give a useful increase in mid-range power.

Or there's the Hyde half or full race cams.

Try Norman Hyde, or SRM?
