Hello, I am thinking to buy a T110.

Now, would someone be able to list the various changes made in different years?
Iron head, 4 fins, 5 fins, alloy head...?
Carburettors?
Front brake?
Front mudguard?
etc etc

Also, do you know any good (preferably European-based?) 'AccessTRIUMPH' forum? :D

Many thanks

Iron head, all 5 fin, 1954 and 1955. Subsequent years had alloy head.

Carburettor: inch and a sixteenth Monobloc.

You might also consider buying/borrowing a book by Roy Bacon called "Triumph Twin Restoration" and published by Osprey.
At the back of the book, there are sections that describe the model charts (e.g. starting & ending years) as well as year-by-year model alterations, colors and other more technical information.

The ISBN for the book is: 0-85045-635-5

Good luck! The T110 is a beautiful bike!

Cheers
Mike

I believe the first T110 models had a high comp. iron heads and fixed steering stops on the frame. On the 1955 model the steering stops were adjustable. Also the 8 inch brake on the first T110 had a scalloped spoke flange on the drum.

From memory of my 59 basket case.....don't buy a basket case unless you can identify all the parts as Triumph mix n match.
57 when they went to ' mouth organ' tank badges, different tank ( for badges) full width 8" front drum, rear guard is made of sections later ones are on piece.
The 60 got the twin downtube frame and alternator....?
the 59 is the same as the Bonnie other than having a single carb....as far as I know.
The 58 is the same as the 59 but with the black/ivory colours reversed.
57/58 is when they changed tanks, front brakes, forks.

I like the styling of the pre mouth organ tank model and the blue colour. :D

The Roy Bacon book mentioned is good.
My T110 is in boxes in the shed.... :(

The 61 / 62 is best , if you throw all the junk away .
TR6 is likey better , and TR6 SS only for deserving refined consciencious maticulous individualls , who can ride properly;
and think ' user friendly ' is ' woosing out ' .

Dresta motorcycles make frames for the 500 or the 650 engine, but they are made to order, to your spec. so waiting time can be long, or they can build you a complete bike, racing or otherwise.

Knactually , the Crank / rods / oiling are at the heart of the engine . So these are prefered low time , crack tested , balanced etc .
The rests purely ancinallry . :p . A good head is required for good output .
56 iron T110 is a pretty good bike . for M-X , but the rickmans used a BSA Frame .

early single loop frames require determined control at speed . t 61 / 62 frames not bad at all , 68s stiffer , 71 on stiffer again .
if youre looking to match the moderns touring / scratching .

Many ' classic bike ' rebuilds / restorations seem to be rusty relics resussetated . A internally rusty frame and 5.000.000 mile drivetrain
arnt the best candidates for ' better than new ' performance .
Though ' SELECTED ' s/h components COULD make a satisfactory hot rod .

Check carefully for whelts and dings in any s/h frame ( or machine 0 for evidance of CRASH DAMADGE ,
plenty of single loop frames have been through hedges at 90 mph + .

this is P.U. Triumps at Thruxton etc . TR6SS is I believe a single carb Bonnie , US market East and West coast specs vary .
were a few low time tattered original ones on Ebay US a year or so back . Dirt Cheap at 5 grand .

I think the only difference between a 1959 T110 and a 1959 T120 apart from cosmetics were the twin carb head and the E3134 inlet cam on the Bonne.
