Hi all,
I have a late T100R Daytona with matching engine & frame numbers with the prefix NH, dating the bike to October 1973 . The numbers are good & have not been messed with, including the engine number still having it's clear Triumph logo stampings underneath.
However, according to all the available information I can find, the 1973 model year (H) ran from August 1972 (JH prefix) to June 1973, (GH prefix). The 1974 model year (J) then ran from June 1973 (GJ prefix) to October 1973 (NJ prefix). So, unless I'm missing something quite obvious (which is more than possible.!), my bike appears to sit beyond the 1973 model year cut off but before the 1974 one started.
If anyone has a better understanding than me of how to make sense of this, I would be most grateful. Is this sort of anomaly common with Triumphs of this era? Essentially, I would like to know if the bike is a 1973 or 1974 model year bike.
Cheers all, Deano.
