That would be alota wet sumpin or wet sumthin anyway!

A good read Matt, thanks for posting.

92% balance factors but don't know if engines fired in big bang order 2 pistons at once or staged by the drive cog setting. Will have to ask. Seen both up close but the engines had factory like barrels not the Al machined ones in photo's above. Insightful on the valve sizes and angles and apparently a Norris D+ cam. These old articles plus quizzing TC assured me Ms Peel bottom end could stand the torque up to 8000 rpm where TC tried to shift @ in time. Also noted benefit of fuel injection over carb, so encouraged I've built Peel into a corner w/o room for a big ole carb. Didn't realize of course till I mocked her up last summer to find wasted money on two QuickSilver 38 mm carbs.

If it had a King/Queen seat likely some would complain its too much a chopper to appreciate it non wheelie stance, as much as its length w/o wheelie bar. He'd store these long rigs standing vertical on garage walls. Dual engine just fits in standard Chevy van. With instant tire break on tap you could steer this in tightest places by turning on its CoG axis till it faced an open to let it hook up by a bit of let off for the whiplash jerk forward you'd also let snap throttle back on w/o pilot weak effort/sluggishness.

TC's '04 Ohio camp and 850 ride there and out a few states away.

2012 Marks the 40th Anniversary of the Hogslayer World Record
at www.hogslayerdocumentary.com

In 1972, the motorcycle drag racing world exploded with raw power of the Hogslayer, a Norton dragster raced by Sunset Motors. The 300+ horsepower nitro-burning Hogslayer set NHRA records in the mid-seven seconds at 180 mph ranges throughout the early 1970s setting records worldwide and becoming the most famous motorcycle dragster in history. Experience the excitement of this remarkable historical event through the recently released "Hogslayer" documentary now available on Blu-Ray and DVD at www.hogslayerdocumentary.com.

"Hogslayer: The Unapproachable Legend" is the true-life story of the dual-engine Norton dragster designed, built and raced by TC Christenson and John Gregory of Sunset Motors in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The documentary chronicles the Sunset Motors Racing Team’s unrivaled innovation and unbridled courage as they faced unyielding challengers throughout the United States and Europe in the 1970’s to capture multiple world championships. The original Hogslayer dragster is presently on permanent exhibit at the National Motorcycle Museum in the United Kingdom.

Whats amazing is that was the "fastest" dragster at the time...1976....wasnt really that long ago....and it was a Norton.

just saying, makes me warm and fuzzy.

On Ebay at the moment , theres a mysterious three engined norton drag bike in the background , thus T. C. head recorded for posterity . :(

Ouch! Do you think having to lay across the depth of two engines could have anything to do with that, Mr. Lawrence?

This was me in 1984. When I asked TC if I could get a pic he said ,"OK but don't start it up" .
