Since Im doing a rewire on my bike, and there seem to be a few threads on wiring anyways I thought I would add to it:) I recently picked up a baja designs switch from oldbritts. I will be able to get rid of my keyed ignition (ill be using a simple key setup for security) I also picked up a fuse block from eastern beaver company. Now the switch cluster receives a fused DC line to provide power for everything. I however was under the impression you want to run your power wires for all accessories (lights, turn signal, etc) through a fuse to protect the switch and the associated electronics. Is there a reason for me to run my wires through the fuse block that come from the switch panel? I feel like I know the answer, but I would like alittle confirmation.

So I had mistakenly routed the wires wrong.

The way I have it now is:

Alternator>Podtronic (Regulator/Rectifier)>Battery>Keyed Ignition Switch>Fuse Panel>then out to the circuits

Does that help?

The simple answer, and correct answer IMO, is "No".

Thats what I was figuring. I may contact baja to see what loads the switch is capable of handling, I thought of running a 30amp to the switch. here are the install directions for the switch.
