I've read a lot about peoples opinions of Norvil here on this forum and thought it interesting that after reaching out to RGM several times via E mail to talk about what I am going to need they, in over two weeks have never gotten back to me. Norvil did right away and developed a quote for my list. I realize that just because they have quoted a bunch of stuff, that it doesn't mean quality. Given what I've read, Norvil wouldn't be my first pick but on the other hand RGM doesn't seem interested. Are they alright? what am I missing. Stainless Classic, Unity, NRP, British Bike Bits, all have gotten back to me but silence from RGM.

Phone is best with RGM, they are not good with email but can you be sure its got there, lot of filters to stop spam can mean its not got there.

I have used RGM several times over the yrs , with no issues … also BritCycle here in Nova Scotia , you have to be vigilant with these guys as they usually have choices , best to pick the best/most costly part from them , the parts arrive quickly but I’m just an hour or so away … you might try calling RGM ….

I'd scratch Unity off that list if you think RGM is slow in responding. The fellow who took over Unity is not interested in any electronic communication at all, and is gruff by all accounts.

I've had good luck with RGM, but almost all these folks are getting to retirement age and seem to slowly be backing away.

Kevin at NRP is great and very helpful. In my experience, the only supplier of aftermarket parts that didn't require some amount of "massaging" to be right.

I've bought a few things from British Bike Bits, with some being good and some being not fit for use. With me being in the US, there seemed to be zero incentive for standing behind their products that were bad.

No experience with Norvil (honestly, been scared off by the reputation), but the pricing can be extortionate.

What is it you're looking for? Andover would be my first pick for engine/gearbox parts if you can't find NOS via eBay/etc, but nothing beats a local-ish shop where you can establish a relationship. Nortons have quite a bit of support (especially the 750 and 850s), but there's a lot of little changes and tricks to them, and they're not all self evident. Having a parts supplier who knows you and your bike can save a lot of trouble.

Now replaced by someone new who seems to be better, but that was not difficult to improve on 'Bantam John'.

I use RGM and Andover Norton, no issues with either. Met Les Emery of Norvil back in the 80's, based on my impression I vowed never to buy even a washer off him.

I’ve bought from Norvil a few times, no issues and pretty quick on the shipping.

British Cycle Supply are a good bunch.

RGM is a favorite, but I haven’t ordered anything recently.

Morrie’s Place is my go to, Ed is top notch.

Harsh but true for me. With RGM it is best if I know exactly what I want and just order it without a lot of questions about what I might need. Shipping is a little steep in price, but product arrives quickly. They use UPS worldwide. Try clicking on the "Ask a question about this product" in red text to the right of the product price. Then type up your question in the message box or whatever it is that comes up and send it. He might get back to you. Then again, he might not.

Andover might be your best bet on the main bearings, pistons, rings, pins, and bigend shells.

You can also try MAP Cycle if you are in the USA. They are in Florida and have been around a long time.

You could also see what Greg Marsh has that you might need. He is an excellent source for TriSpark ignition parts here in the USA

If thinking exotic go fast racey parts, talk to JS Motorsports.

I’ve not had that much from Norvil over the years, but I‘ve personally never had any issue with either their parts or service. My recent experience with them with twin disc parts was excellent, they were super helpful and very fast.

In previous years RGM was always my ‘go to’ but their poor email response is an issue for me.

AN have been my ’go to‘ for a while now.

From what I’ve read previously it seems some of the key staff are no longer at RGM for whatever reason.

I've had good luck with Waldrige Motors, Canada. Mike is very helpful and easy to deal with.
Quick delivery to the US, usually the exchange rate is in our favor.

+1 for Walridge. They have good stock and are very helpful. It pays to look around and compare prices from different suppliers if you have the time. Sometimes the same part can be half the price from somewhere else. I’ve had good look with fried.com too. Not Norton specific but often better prices if they do have the part you need. The Norton Owners Club in the UK has lots of spares too. I’ve found prices for tinware etc in eBay to be insane, before buying there look at suppliers too.

*edit - feked.com is the other supplier. Apparently autocorrect hadn’t heard of them.

I ordered some parts from RGM months ago and didn't get tracking information, well they never showed up. Sent 4 emails never heard a thing, so i phoned them and they said they would get back to me. Never heard back so I called again and they were able to give me a tracking number to look it up, tracking showed that it went back because the adderess was incomplete and it could not be delivered to me. Called back again and they said the same thing and again never heard back. I'm just pissed because those two phone calls cost $24.00 and i'm into it for for close to $150.00 now. Never again.
