Hi guys,

Looking for a bit of advice...

I have a stuck sump plate on my recently acquired Trident t150 (I guess it hasn't been off in a long time :( ) . The gaskets just will not let go. Tried whacking it with a rubber mallet, a vice grip on the fins, etc... PB Blaster doesn't seem to work. Am contemplating heating it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A hammer and a block of wood would be better, just go carefully.

When you refit the plate, make sure it goes back on the right way, with the finned end to the front, otherwise the scavenge pickup will be blocked off.

Got it off but it was a real struggle with the filter and the second gasket.

I notice that someone makes a modified plate that actually has a normal size sump drain plug in it. Would be way better than the oil deluge that greeted me (as a result of it being wet sumped). I think I might have to invest in one.

Thanks for the advise re orientation - I can se it would be easy to mess that up.
